Sometimes the most meaningful ventures begin when you least expect them. That is exactly how Renova Global came to life.

It started at a mutual friend's birthday party, where Charlie was passionately discussing Spanish real estate. Bouke happened to overhear snippets of the conversation and curiosity sparked. We struck up a conversation, and there was an instant connection. Still, neither of us anticipated anything substantial would come of it at the time.

Charlie was deep into renovation projects in Spain. Bouke had just acquired his first rental property through his family's business. Both of us were curious, driven, and entrepreneurial, but with no shared plan.

Everything changed with an unexpected twist of timing.

A few weeks later, we crossed paths again. This time at Malaga airport. Coincidentally, we had both been in the region for property viewings. That unexpected meeting led to our first in-depth conversation. What began as a casual exchange of ideas quickly evolved into a serious exploration of shared interests. We realized we were aligned on something bigger: a passion for creating high-quality real estate with a clear vision and strong brand identity. Ibiza, a place that had long inspired us, became our starting point.

Within weeks, we were flying back and forth to the island, building a network, connecting with realtors, meeting contractors, and consulting legal experts. Just two months in, we acquired our first three apartments in Ibiza. One month later, we added a fourth property in Marbella.

Naturally, the journey was not without challenges. We experienced contractor setbacks, were scammed by an architect, and dealt with complex legal delays. At the same time, life did not slow down. Charlie welcomed newborn twins. Bouke relocated to Ibiza. Both of us were running other businesses. But the energy and excitement we felt around Renova gave us the momentum to keep pushing forward. Every obstacle became a lesson, and a stepping stone.

Now, 11 months in, we look at what we have built with pride. Renova Global is more than a business. It is a reflection of who we are and what we stand for.
